We move a lot And I can honestly say that Movin Murdy was the best experience we’ve ever had. I am out of state now as we no longer live in PA, but if I have to move again, I will be calling them. Their price was a little more than the two other quotes I got but that’s because they do more, they guarantee more and they go above and beyond. They were so good about me switching the date and working with me and my family to make sure the move was as smooth as possible. I had a lot of questions before the move because our move was sort of a moving target and they were able to navigate everything with me. All the guys were respectful and professional, and Chris and Pat are a delight to work with! I 1000% recommend this company for a stress free move!
Movin' Murdy was recommended to my company from a fellow friend that recently had used them and spoke very highly of them. The day of the move, it was pouring - all the guys kept it moving and moved everything without complaining about the rain! All furniture was moved carefully, and no damage was done to anything. Chris and another guy came back two weeks later to pick up office furniture that we could not get rid of / have the space for. It was a very great experience overall with Movin' Murdy and we will absolutely recommend to our friends!
We recently used Movin’ Murdy to move my mother-in-law from North Huntingdon to Edgewood, and we could not be happier with the services provided. Our crew, Nathan, Dom, and Mir arrived right on time, and were courteous and professional from the very start. They worked tirelessly throughout the morning and afternoon in, and handled everything with great care, treating all of her possessions as if they were their own. I would absolutely recommend Movin’ Murdy to anyone looking for a moving company. They are a terrific local company that is family owned and I believe that shows in their work. The attentiveness and care they put into the job was second to none. From start to finish they were the best. Chris came out and provided a fair estimate for their services.
Then on moving day everything went as smooth as one could wish. The crew was incredible and very professional. I’ve never seen a moving team as on point as this. I got my money’s worth and then some with how good the entire process was. Just an absolutely incredible team and if I have to move again for any reason they will be my only call because there is nobody better.

We have used several moving companies over the last 20 years and these guys are by far the BEST! They were kind, polite, careful with all of our furniture. They were very detailed and made us check the entire house before they closed up the truck to make sure that they got everything. They were very thorough and didn’t miss a thing! Movin Murdy provided excellent service for our move! Chris came to our home to provide a fair quote in advance. On moving day, the crew arrived on time and were so fast and efficient. They took great care of our belongings and were so kind to my kids and crazy dog! We don’t plan to move again but if we do, we will absolutely be calling Movin Murdy!
Had the guys from moving murdy come to give me a quote on a full house move a few weeks before we wanted to move. They gave us a fair estimate and looked around our whole house to determine the size of the truck. We set up the date to move that day and overall started the experience on a good foot. The day of the move, four guys arrived with a large truck and started moving around 9. At 1130, I left to buy the crew lunch and start checking things out at the new house. The guys arrived to the new house and worked around some painters that were finishing up a project. It took them until about 430-5 to finish and nothing was damaged.
UNFORTUNATELY, when I returned to do some cleanup at our old house, there was stuff everywhere. The crew had apparently told my husband that the truck was full so we would be responsible for the remainder of the items, despite paying for a full house move. I called the company and after several back and forths, they were unwilling to offer any kind of credit or have anyone come back to help us move. We have now spent hours moving these items left behind after spending $2900 (with tips).

My husband and I moved into our new apartment last week and we were extremely impressed with the entire experience we had with Movin’ Murdy from the previous day of packing up all our belongings from our house and the next day with the move itself. This company is exceptional and was particularly respectful of our household items and worked so hard to make our moving experience less stressful for us. I am so glad I called this company on the recommendation of my realtor. We are so grateful for Adam, Nate, Gabe and Evan who were assigned to take care of us, and they did just that and more. Call Movin’ Murdy, you won’t be disappointed, trust me because I am very particular about everything and I was completely satisfied with our experience with them.
Don’t look elsewhere. It’s a family business that’s been around awhile. Chris who did the estimate was friendly and knowledgeable. The driver, Adam, kept in contact with us along the way. Adam and Evan worked very hard the entire time loading and unloading. They also cared for our fragile items with close attention. They are packing experts. The price was very reasonable. I felt they were worth every penny. Would highly recommend their services to anyone needing to move!

We just moved yesterday and it was a stressful time, but Adam, Tyler, Dave and Evan were AMAZING! They made the stress melt away! They were fast, careful and so friendly. Movin' Murdy came highly recommended to us, and we used them for a local move recently in Pittsburgh. Their team arrived on time, and they were extremely polite and took good care of our furniture and house as they moved things. I would highly recommend them.

And a lot of what we had was awkward, heavy, or furniture that had been assembled in the rooms they were in. I had a lot of doubts that several pieces would be able to leave the house without being taken apart, if at all.
I inquired with several companies online about estimates and exactly what they’d move for us, how far, and turnaround time. Chris was one of the only ones who offered to come onsite (and ignored the packing chaos) to give an estimate. I’m usually the kind of person who would like to communicate online only, or texting, but I’m so glad he came to our house to review our options. Communication prior to the visit, during, and after, was A+.
Most of the above would be enough reason to rate them highly, but I haven’t even talked about the actual moving crew. They are experts. I work with engineers and physicists and I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t have been able to figure out how to move our large pieces of furniture so easily. My only explanation is that they’re magicians. Magicians with a side business in interior design, because they also intuitively knew exactly where we wanted furniture placed. I was incredibly impressed. Wow! Without a doubt! THEY ARE THE BEST MOVING COMPANY...I called, Chris (Owner) came out to do an walk-through for an estimate. Time of move - from when the truck arrived , until they left.....superb in every way packed/wrapped furniture so there was no damage...guys were polite and very helpful (Adam) crew manager wouldn't let anyone lift a finger...truly the best experience!....AWESOME COMPANY....Don't look any further....MOVIN' MURDY IS YOUR MOVER!
Just want to thank Movin Murdy for an excellent job moving our furniture. The two movers who performed the job were very professional, courteous and were very careful. I would definitely recommend this company for all your moving needs. There were no hidden cost, and the price was very reasonable, highly recommend.

I spent a great deal of time obtaining estimates for an upcoming move. This included completing online inventories that didn't match with my belongings, talking to people who refused to go back over the inventory, because the quote didn't make sense, listening to people tell me they were quoting by the weight of my belongings...even though they hadn't seen even photos of what I have, and on and on and on. I got estimates ranging from $500 to $2000 for the exact same move.
Movin' Murdy was the only moving company that asked to schedule an on-site visit in order to give an accurate estimate. Chris came to my home and spent time explaining their processes, expectations, etc. He didn't judge my moving mess...lol, and he had an estimate to me within 24 hours. It wasn't the lowest estimate I'd received, but we had built rapport and the estimate seemed very reasonable, so I booked the move.
THEN, I purchased some beautiful used furniture from someone selling their home. I spent some time trying to figure out where to store the furniture before my move and trying to find a way to move it without spending a lot of money. The whole thing was so stressful that I finally gave in and called Chris at Movin' Murdy again, knowing this would be expensive. I was on a tight schedule and calling last minute, but Chris went out of his way to be helpful. He fit me in a day and a half later and he gave me a good price, accepting photos in lieu of an on-site visit.
The crew arrived timely with their truck and all necessary equipment and they got the job done within the 3 hour minimum, despite me making last minute changes. They worked hard and fast, and yet were so careful with the furniture and with the properties where loading and unloading occurred. They were personable and in good spirits the entire time, and really made it a stress free experience for me, which I really needed, at that point. Their skill was unmatched. The focus on customer satisfaction was wonderful, especially in today's world where it is so very rare.
We still haven't done my "actual" move, but I am so confident it will go well, that I feel completely comfortable leaving rave reviews. I won't hire or recommend any other company going forward. This is what good business is all about!
